Apologies once more.

I’ve been a bad blogger but sometimes that’s the sacrifice I make for being a good teacher.

Since I no longer have to do ‘formal’ lesson plans I’ve had so much more time. I’ve practically got my weekends back but it has meant working quite late during the week. I’ve also been spending a lot of time on my assignment which I finally finished on Friday (just before I got an email saying the deadline had been extended by a fortnight) *facepalm* never mind at least it’s practically done now.

I’ve also been preparing for teaching my new schemes of work after half term and for my external examiner observation next Thursday. I now know what I’m going to do I just have that one final lesson to plan and that’s it for this week.

Perhaps I can finally catch up on some of the other admin I have to do like reading, emails, gardening, ironing, campus pack, PSHE work and forms for my new job – that’s all for during half term though and next week will be all about getting me to the point where I can do that effectively over the half term.

My brother is here this weekend which has been a nice surprise and since we got the garden furniture we’ve had another visitor …

We think (hope) he’s a stray.

In other news the garden is coming on well and I’ve had lots of homegrown radishes in my saladsIMG_20170512_163351_776

I don’t think there’s much else to inform you of. I hope I can get back into the swing of blogging next week.

Finally Finished Grammar.

I have, since I last wrote, finally finished my grammar work. Obviously I haven’t learnt it all but I’ve finished synthesising, making notes and creating flashcards so that my notes are easily accessible. It’s a big relief, especially seeing as this is now my last month off and I think it’s really important that I fully relax now so that I’m re-charged in time for September.

So far relaxing has meant lie-ins and lazy mornings which have been doing me a great deal of good so that I can spend the afternoons finishing off my grammar. Now that that’s over I intend to do a lot of reading for pleasure now. I want to finish off Caitlin Moran’s Moranifesto (only 20% left to go according to Goodreads) and Greg has just bought me Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (to be delivered tomorrow) so I should whip through that in no time. I also intend to carry on books recommended by my course. The next on this list is ‘Why are you shouting at us?’ by Beadle & Murphy.

I’ve also started a yoga class with Greg’s mum and exercising at home with Greg which has been … fun and worthwhile, if a little hard work.

No further news on the DSA front or on my glasses … but in other news I used my home grown herbs when I made Mediterranean cod and vegetables last night and I must say I was pleased with the result.

So, from me and my reading nook, TTFN X
